Game Design Workshop: Edge-pull game treatment
“GeoT.O.W.” or “Edge-pull” a game by Thomas Kearns, 1/12/08 this treatment was developed for Allen Turner's Game Design Workshop (Gam424) at DePaul's College of Computing and Digital Media. It is my intention to use this idea as the motivation for learning iPhone development upon completition of my degree this spring Idea A social network enabled, casual game, intended to catalyze team based local interaction and to foster a global community of participants. At it's heart, “edge-pull” is a simple game of tug-o-war, only this time the rope may stretch thousands of miles as the teams may be located on opposite sides of the globe. Simple and intuitive controls combine with entertaining strategic measures to enable rich active gameplay and socially networked experiences.
